Financial Forum: PE Industry Growing, Successful Investment Exits Key to Further Development

Private equity funds active in Croatia manage over €4 billion in capital. "So far, we in Provectus have invested in more than 40 companies, the number includes add on investments also, said Igor Čičak, CEO and Managing Partner at Provectus Capital Partners, during the panel discussion “Investment Funds and Strategies for Financing Company Growth” held at the Financial Forum organized by the business weekly Lider.

The conference gathered key figures from Croatia's financial sector.

The panel discussion emphasized the dynamic development of the domestic market and highlighted that Croatia, thanks to PE/VC fund investments, has two unicorn companies with several more emerging. Additionally, the value of companies invested in by PE /VC funds is estimated at around €8 billion. This dynamic growth is undoubtedly a significant contributor to Croatia's economic progress in recent years.

However, there is still substantial room for growth, as private equity investment volume in the region remains five to six times lower than in the Western Europe.

"We are seeing increasing interest from both companies and investors for private equity funds. The next important phase for the PE industry is successful exits. We have a solid track record in doing investments and have worked extensively on strengthening companies within our portfolio. Now it’s time to demonstrate the value created and the way to do that is through successful exits. This will attract new investors and open new opportunities in the domestic market, which is why we are excited about the period ahead," stated Čičak.
